This guy makes some interesting observations. I was a kid in 1984, so I totally bought into the original film’s propaganda. Based on this review, however, the remake pretty much reflects everything that’s wrong with contemporary American pop culture. This is important. As the mother of someone with autism, I can attest to the fact that there is much, much more to my child than his diagnosis. Autism affects his life, for certain, but it is not who he is. Just like everyone else, he has hopes, dreams, interests, hobbies, and so on. Everyone, not just writers, should be keenly aware of that.
I believe this may be the coolest thing I’ve ever seen.
